Minutes for Sept.26, 2015
Meeting was held at Frank and Jackie Magri’s home.
An Italian dinner was presented by the Magri with the club filling
in the vegetables, salads and desserts. A Great! Meal….!!!
28 members attended the meeting.
Keith Baggus, our president, called the meeting to order;
Two new members were added to our ranks- Bob and Carol Gettemy from
Greensburg. A welcoming letter has been sent to them.
Major items presented by Keith.
1. Bus trip to Ohio on Sept. 26, 38 people will be going to Warther
Museum to see replica of Lincoln Funeral Car and The Age of Steam
Roundhouse.
2. Castle Shannon Train Show…Set up Oct. 31 @ 10:00, show Sunday
Nov, 1 @ 9:00-3:00. We will be raffling a train at the show. Theme
will be Halloween decorations with Keith’s houses. If you have any
Halloween items in G-scale please bring to the show.
3. Greenburg Train Show…Set up Nov.6 @ 5:00pm, show Nov, 7-8 @
10:00-4:00. 12’ X 18’ space. We will be using some of Keith’s great
houses with a fall theme.
4. We will be doing The Greenburg Show on Feb. 27 -28. Ceramic
houses and people will be the theme. If you have any please consider
bringing them.
5. Hobby Express, Cranberry, will have G-scale trains
Tina Weimer, our secretary, reported;
Our financial report…can be found on our web page with your
password.
We are 4/5 of the way to purchasing our new trailer.
One Box Car has been rented for the year… a fund raiser for the
trailer.
23 clothing items have been given for embroidering with our LOGO but
we need 25 to get the best price. Bring your flat items to one of
the upcoming shows and give to any officer of the club. Don’t forget
to safety pin your name and PGRS to the item.
Name badges can still be ordered.
Christmas Party information will be posted in mid-November. Date is
Dec. 5, 2015 @ 6:00, Jaden’s Catering, 4724 William Penn Highway,
Monroeville, Pa. 15146
50/50 was won by Alycefaye Stewart. She gave her winnings back
towards the trailer fund.
Don Goodwin, our V.P., reported;
Mon Valley Transportation Museum contacted Don and said they never
had so many people come into the Museum as they did while we were
there. They requested that we do a show for them in Dec. Our members
are very busy during that month and unable to do it for them... We
plan to do a show in 2016 for them.
Don is to find out more about the Western Pa. Model Railroad Museum.
It could be a destination for our Jan. meeting.
Alycefaye Stewart, our secretary, no report was presented
Club Concerns:
Lee Brandes suggested that we start having “work parties” to help
members that need our help with their train lay outs. Members said,
“Just ask and we will come.”
Mark and Teresa Demyan offered their home for our June 2016 meeting.
If you want the club meeting at your home please let Keith know, so
when the calendar is set at the January meeting, you can be put on
the 2016 calendar.
