October will be a busy month for the PGRS. The club has
two events scheduled. The first is a meeting at the
Gettemy home, 726 Mace Street, Greensburg, Pa, 15601,
Sunday, October 16, 1PM to 4PM. Bob and Carol are having
soup and sandwiches for our meal. They are asking
members to fill out the menu with a side of your choice.
We’ll need snacks, salad, sides, and desserts. Please
call Bob and Carol and let them know by October 12, what
you will be bringing and how many are coming. Phone
(724)875-9179 or (724)875-9177 e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
Bob and Carol said come out and see the back yard. You
will not recognize it!
Our second activity for the month is the train rides,
October 21 and 22. We are scheduled to ride the “Potomac
Eagle” on Friday and the “Western Maryland Scenic
Railroad” the next day, Saturday the 22nd. Anyone
needing information please look in the September
newsletter for all the details.
The club doesn’t have a meeting scheduled for November.
Our next scheduled meeting will be the Saturday,
December 10, Christmas Party at Palmieri’s Restaurant,
Old Franktown Road. Please save the date and we’ll have
all the details in the November newsletter.
A big thank you to Clark Kemmerer and Alice Angelo for
hosting the September meeting. Alice, your spaghetti and
meatballs were fantastic. I was a pig and had two big
helpings. Thanks again to both of you for all your help.
Great job, Clark, on your lay out. Thank you, Tina, for
the photos. (Please see photos)
Please look at the “Dining Car” for this month’s recipe
which was given to me by one of the ladies at the
church. It is called “Pioneer Woman Apple Dumplings.” My
question to her was where did a pioneer woman get a can
of Mountain Dew soda?
