PGRS February 25, 2017 Meeting

Meeting was called to order @ 1:05 by Pres. Keith Baggus.

18 members attended…

Keith reviewed his plans for our overnight clubs trip to Gettysburg that was voted on by all present.

Keith and Bruce Watkins attended a meeting with the TCA earlier that morning and gave a report on the progress for the upcoming event in June. We will set up on Wed. June 28 and be on display until noon on Sun. July 2 when we will tear the display down. Suggestion was made that we should park @ Heinz Field and take the “T” to the Point to save on the price of parking.

Mark and Teresa Demyan will be back from their winter get away and would like to have the July meeting at their home. July 22 could be the date. Keith is going to check with them.

The Christmas Party was discussed and Max’s Allegheny Tavern at 537 Suismon Street, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15212 was selected. Keith wrote out a deposit check to hold the room for our party. More information will follow.

Sandy (Hubert) Pyle won the 50/50. And yes, she and Jack got married over the holidays. Congratulations to them both.

Bruce Watkins gave out information on the “Big Train Operator’s Club”. He also talked about the TCA Convention in Pittsburgh this June.

Dave Bodnar showed how a laser cutter could make detailed cutout signs. He also brought a hot wire foam cutter to speed up the cutting of the foam for the islands.

Alycefaye Stewart gave an introduction to the members on how to make islands for the inside layout. Everyone made one island and seem to have a good time.

A light lunch was provided by Joe Welling and Alycefaye.
