Hearty Croutons
Before you begin
you’ll need: small pan, small bowl, large bowl, cookie press
Preheat oven to
350F Cook: 10-15 minutes
Prep: 10
minutes Yield: 4cups
Ingredients
3 Tbsp. garlic
salt ¼ tsp. cayenne
pepper
1 tsp. celery
seed ¼ cup butter,
melted
2 Tbsp. basil,
chopped fine 1 loaf French or Italian bread
1 Tbsp. parsley
flakes coarsely broken into
½” pieces
2 tsp. oregano
½ tsp. black
pepper
In a small bowl,
combine the first seven (dry) ingredients and mix. In a small
pan over medium heat, melt butter, place bread pieces in a large
bowl, drizzle butter over, and toss to coat. Continue tossing
lightly and sprinkle with dry ingredients. Spread the pieces on
a cookie sheet and bake at 350 F until brown and crisp, about 10
to 15 minutes
